SCROOMS Instrument Stats: Control, Luck, and Resonance

Last updated 2026-10-11Unofficial player article

Understand all six catching attributes, read the starter Precision and Luck values, and choose the stat that addresses your missed catches.

SCROOMS instrument stats solve different parts of catching: Precision, Harmony, and Tension help control; Tune Speed shortens tuning; Resonance sets frequency reach; Luck affects rare attraction. Compare the attribute that matches your problem before choosing an upgrade.

SCROOMS instrument-stat tooltipsEarly-access gameplay explains the attributes; the written launch comparison keeps its numerical values separate.

Know what each stat changes

Instrument attributes and their practical jobs
AttributeEffectRelevant situation
PrecisionWidens the catch zoneYou need more room for corrections
HarmonyThe zone moves less oftenFrequent zone movement is difficult
TensionThe creature follows the marker more closelyYour corrections feel hard to control
LuckImproves rare attraction chancesYou are pursuing rarer encounters
Tune SpeedShortens tuningFrequency setup slows the session
ResonanceSets highest reachable frequencyA target is outside current reach

The three control attributes are related, but they are not interchangeable. A wider zone gives you more room; steadier zone movement gives you less to chase; stronger following makes your marker corrections easier for the creature to follow. When a catch is already inside the bar, those distinctions matter more directly than tuning speed.

Read percentages as equipment values

The launch beginner guide shows the Wooden Lute at 2% Precision and 0% Luck, and the Tamer’s Guitar at 6% Precision and 5% Luck. Those are the stated equipment attributes, not measured catch-success percentages. A 5% Luck value does not establish a 5% chance to catch every rare creature.

Older early-access footage uses different numerical spreads. Compare the equipment values currently displayed in your game when spending Chimes, rather than combining numbers from separate stages of development into one table.

Match the upgrade to your actual failure

If the tuning display takes too long, Tune Speed is relevant. If the target's frequency cannot be reached, Resonance is relevant. If progress drains after you enter the catching stage, work on the marker and inspect the control attributes. For a rare-attraction goal, Luck belongs in the comparison after you have considered whether you can finish the encounter.

No stat removes the need to complete the capture loop. Keep the creature inside its zone until the progress bar fills. Use the catching guide if the interface change is the problem, and the guitar comparison if you are making the first upgrade decision.
