Last updated 2026-10-11Unofficial player article

Compare the launch Precision and Luck values, decide when the first guitar upgrade helps, and finish the purchase with the right equip action.

For an early SCROOMS upgrade, Tamer’s Guitar has higher displayed Precision and Luck than the Wooden Lute in the launch comparison. The guitar shows 6% Precision and 5% Luck; the lute shows 2% Precision and 0% Luck.

Luck0%5%A rare-attraction attribute, not a guaranteed outcome

Precision widens the catch zone, while Luck affects rare attraction. The difference gives you two reasons to consider the upgrade, but it does not establish a measured catch-rate increase or guarantee a rare creature. You still have to tune and finish the catch-zone stage.

Upgrade after using the free baseline

Use the lute to finish the first-catch objective before worrying about the shop comparison. That gives you experience with the controls and lets the tutorial introduce Julian's sale and guitar offer in order.

If you can follow the creature but want more room for corrections, the guitar's Precision improvement is a clear benefit. If you are losing attempts because you are moving the wrong part of the interface, correct that input first. An upgrade cannot substitute for understanding which marker you control.

Check the offer and equip the result

The introductory launch offer is 100 Chimes at Julian. Treat that as the tutorial offer, and confirm the price actually shown when buying. Older early-access footage uses different equipment spreads and prices; mixing those numbers would obscure this simple first decision.

After purchase, select Tamer’s Guitar in Equipment Bag → Instruments, equip it, and close the bag. For the exact sequence, use getting the guitar. If you are already beyond this purchase, the broader instrument comparison helps you separate control upgrades from frequency reach rather than repeatedly comparing against the starter lute.
