SCROOMS How to Get Chimes: Catch, Sell, and Upgrade
Earn Chimes through captures and Julian’s sales, keep quest needs in view, and spend toward an upgrade that addresses your catching goal.
Get Chimes in SCROOMS by catching Scrooms and selling them to Julian. Start with the instrument you already own, complete captures you can control, and turn suitable catches into the balance for your next equipment purchase.
Build the sale around a purchase you can name
Decide what the next instrument is meant to help you do, then read its actual offer. If your goal is only “more money,” it is easy to lose track of whether another hour of catching improves your progression. A named purchase gives you a finish line.
The normal capture sequence supplies the sale: play an equipped instrument, tune, then keep the creature inside the zone until progress fills. Repeated failed captures do not help this income routine, so choose attempts you can finish before treating rarity as the only consideration.
| Part | Action | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Catch | Finish encounters with owned gear | Build a sale inventory |
| Review | Read your current quest | Keep useful quest catches |
| Sell | Visit Julian and complete a sale | Increase the music-note balance |
| Upgrade | Buy and equip a useful instrument | Make the next catching goal more manageable |
Make the trip to Julian worthwhile
Review your current quest before selling a batch. Keep a requested creature for the task when that reward is your priority, and sell catches that fit your currency goal. This is a planning recommendation; it does not assume a specific resale formula or a fixed price for every species.
At Julian, follow the selling interaction and check your music-note balance afterward. Use the result of the actual sale to judge progress toward the purchase. A video showing another player's large sale is not an hourly income guarantee for your inventory.
Spend on the bottleneck you are experiencing
If the creature slips out repeatedly, control deserves attention. If your intended target is beyond the current frequency reach, Resonance is the relevant comparison. Faster Tune Speed helps setup, but it will not directly solve progress draining during the catching stage.
When you buy an instrument, equip it from the Equipment Bag and close the bag. For the merchant's two jobs, see Julian's guide. For the sale itself, the selling walkthrough keeps the currency action separate from equipment menus.
Use the catch-and-sale loop in the SCROOMS experience and check the resulting balance.
